Sweat contains lots of different bodily fluids including water, electrolyte, etc. When you're dehydrated, your body flush toxins the way it should (through waste). So toxins excreet through your skin and cause odor when they begin to dry. A good way to self-gauge your water intake is by monitoring your urine. If your pee is dark yellow or brownish, you need to drink more water. 1 gal/ day

Apr 29, 2012 - I agree but taking multiple showers may not be an option. I use a mineral salt deodorant as back up, keep underarm hair trimmed but not eliminated, and wear a cotton t-shirt underneath. Also, change the clothes every day.

My forehead and face are soaked after only 15 minutes with fast walking. 20-30 minutes will leave my back and front sweaty and my face almost dripping, in a windy 14 ish degrees celsius environment. I'm a bit on the heavier side, but people I know who are more or less the same or ever more out of shape does not sweat this much when we do the same training. They look dry compared to me. I never sweat when not moving though, so I doubt there's a underlying cause.

May 9, 2012 - The amount of sweat you have lies in genetics. Yes, it does depend on how hard you are working, but some people sweat more than others due to genetics. My good friend is in great shape, but playing basketball for 10 minutes soaks him in sweat. The same happens to his dad, and his grandfather.

May 15, 2012 - A. People sweat to decrease the body temperature and not to clean toxins. When exercising muscle work produces heat by producing swat and evaporation the body cools down. No toxins are excreted with the sweat just water and minerals. B. Drink water if you are thirsty..that is the best way to keep the internal homeostasis and prevent dehydration. Drinking plenty of water will just make you pee more often.. C. Sweat does not smell..the bacteria that feed on sweat produce side products that smell.
